Pranchiyettan Cast
Ever since this movie came out, whenever a friend asks me which Malayalam movie to watch or even mentions Indian movies, I recommend they should watch it.  Maybe it's because I live in the US and know/interact w/ a lot of Pranjiyettan types, I truly enjoyed this lighthearted and simple movie presented in a brilliant way.

The full movie is presented to the user as a conversation between Chirammal Enashu Francis (Mammootty) and his favorite saint, Saint Francis of Assisi.  As mentioned above it's a simple movie in some sense but truly entertained me for the full duration and felt great walking out of the theater.

I can almost gurantee that by the end of the movie you will be making a "6" with your left hand and a "9" with your right leg.  (Have to watch the movie to get that one!!!)

Malayalam Movie Review - "Salt N' Pepper" (Rating 3.75/5 Stars)

Before I say anything about the movie, please watch the below clip:

Dricted By: Aashiq Abu
Produced By: Lucsam Creations - Sadanandan Rangorath & Debobroto Mandal
Written By: Shyam Pushkaran, Dileesh Nair
Music: Bijibal/Avial

Malayalam Movie Salt N PepperI am not sure if there is a Lead actor or actress in this movie, Lal, Asif Ali & Shweta Menon takes on important roles and does a great job with there characters (More to come later on Babu Raj).  The movie is a modern twist in some sense on the "Boy Meets Girl", "Looses Girl" & then "Gets her Back" story.  A twist which makes it interesting and enjoyable to watch.  The movie also does a great job in intertwining the story to showcase and give importance to the wonderful food that Kerala has to offer.  Although I don't know what a Thattu Muttu Dosha is, I want some!!!

Malayalam Movie Review - "Ordinary" (Rating 4/5 Star)

Biju Menon & Kunjako Boban
Biju Menon (Suku Ettan) Steals the Show!!!
Director/Story: Sugeeth
Producer: Rajeev Nair

I have not laughed this hard in a Malayalam Movie in some time.  The first half of the movie is just drop dead hilarious.  While Kunjako Boban does a great job with his character, this in my opinion is one of the best movies that Biju Menon has done.  His character of Suku Ettan is just awesome from the Accent to some of the catch phrases used.

LaluAlex, Asif Ali, Shritha SivadasAnn Augustine play key roles.

Baburaj (One of my new Fav actors after Salt & Pepper) & Salim Kumar, have small roles but makes the most of it.

I'm no Expert!!!

But I am someone who truly enjoys spending a couple of hours watching a good movie. Primarily I watch Malayalam or English movies, but occasionally Hindi and Tamil as well when it's recommended by others.

For anyone that watches Malayalam Movies, you know that a lot of the good movies, the classics, have been in the past. I often hear from friends that there are no good movies coming out now!!! While I agree that the number of "Good" movies coming out are small, there certainly are good movies releasing.

My hope is to use this blog to share with all of you the movies I feel are worth watching.
